Types of Durood Shareef
In Islam, there are Multiple Durood Shareef (Salawat) , each have unique blessings and benefits. While all Durood are used to sending peace and blessings upon the world’s Last Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), some are more commonly recited for specific benefits.
Durood Ibrahim – Recited in Salah, the most authentic and widely recited Durood in general.
Durood Taj – Known for bringing success, blessing, and protection from hardships.
Durood Tanjeena – Recited for relief from calamities and problems.
Durood Shifa – Brings healing from disease and spiritual peace.

Durood Ibrahim is the mostly recited Salawat (blessing) upon Nabi Muhammad (ﷺ). It is recited in mostly every Salah (Namaz) during Tashahhud (Attahiyat) before concluding the prayer.
Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin wa ‘ala aali Muhammadin kama sallaita ‘ala Ibrahima wa ‘ala aali Ibrahima innaka Hamidum Majid. Allahumma barik ‘ala Muhammadin wa ‘ala aali Muhammadin kama barakta ‘ala Ibrahima wa ‘ala aali Ibrahima innaka Hamidum Majid.
“O Allah, send blessings upon Prophet Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.”
Durood Taj: Durood Shareef For Success

Durood Tanjeena:Durood Shareef For mercy and protection
Durood Tanjeena (درود تنجینا) is a powerful Salawat (blessing) upon Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), known for remove difficulties, gaining protection, and bringing relief from hardtimes. It is often recited in times of distress, illnesses, and challenges to seek Allah’s mercy and blessings.
This Durood is also called Durood Najat (Salawat of Deliverance) because it was revealed to a pious man in a dream as a means of escaping troubles.
Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin salatan tunjina biha min jami’il-ahwali wal-afati, wa taqdi lana biha jami’al-hajat, wa tutahhiruna biha min jami’is-sayyi’at, wa tarfa’una biha ‘indaka a’lad-darajat, wa tuballighuna biha aqsal-ghayati min jami’il-khayrati fil-hayati wa ba’dal-mamat.
“O Allah! Send blessings upon our leader Muhammad (ﷺ), such a Durood that will deliver us from all fears and calamities, fulfill all our needs, purify us from all sins, elevate us to the highest ranks, and grant us the ultimate goals of goodness in this life and after death.”
Durood Shifa:Durood Shareef For Healing
Durood Shifa (درود الشفاء) is a powerful Salawat (blessing) upon Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) that is specifically associated with healing, protection from diseases, and spiritual well-being. The word “Shifa” means “cure” or “healing”, and this Durood is often recited by those seeking relief from illnesses, both physical and spiritual.
Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin tibbil-qulubi wa dawa’iha, wa ‘afiyatil-abdani wa shifa’iha, wa nooril-absari wa diya’iha, wa qutil-arwahi wa ghida’iha, wa ‘ala aalihi wa sahbihi wa sallim.
“O Allah! Send blessings upon our master Muhammad (ﷺ), who is the cure for hearts and their healing, the health of bodies and their recovery, the light of eyes and their illumination, and the nourishment of souls and their sustenance. Also, send peace upon his family and companions.”
Durood Noor: Durood Shareef For Spiritual light
Durood Noor (درود النور) is a special Salawat (blessing) upon Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) that is associated with divine light, spiritual elevation, and inner peace. The word “Noor” means “light”, and this Durood is often recited to seek guidance, blessings, and protection from darkness in life.
Allahumma salli wa sallim wa baarik ‘ala Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadin nooril-anwari wa sirril-asrari wa sayyidil-abraari wa zaynil-mursaleenal-akhyar.

Durood Akbar

اللهم صل وسلم وبارك على سيدنا محمد الذي ملأت قلبه من جلالك وعينه من جمالك فأصبح فرحا مؤيدا منصورا وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم تسليما كثيرا
Allahumma salli wa sallim wa baarik ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin alladhi mala’ta qalbahu min jalalika wa ‘aynahu min jamalika fa-asbaha farihan mu’ayyadan mansooran wa ‘ala aalihi wa sahbihi wa sallim tasliman kathiran.
“O Allah, send blessings, peace, and mercy upon our master Muhammad ﷺ, whose heart You filled with Your Majesty and whose eyes You filled with Your Beauty, so he became joyous, strengthened, and victorious. And send peace and blessings upon his family and companions in abundance.”
Durood Mahi: Make heart pure
Durood Mahi is a special salutation upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The word “Mahi” means “the one who erases,” referring to the Prophet ﷺ as the one who eliminates disbelief and sins through his message. Reciting this durood brings immense blessings and forgiveness.

اللهم صل وسلم وبارك على سيدنا محمد مَاحِي الذنوب والخطايا وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم
Allahumma salli wa sallim wa baarik ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin maahi ad-dhunoobi wal-khatayaa wa ‘ala aalihi wa sahbihi wa sallim.
O Allah, send blessings, peace, and mercy upon our master Muhammad ﷺ, the one who erases sins and mistakes, and upon his family and companions.
