After Hazrat Isha Alaihissalam was taken to the sky, the condition of Christians became very bad and extremely worse, people started idol worship and started forcing others to do the same. In fact, they had a king named Dakiyanus who was so cruel that he used to kill anyone who refused to worship idols.
Ashab-e-Kahf were the nobles of the city of Ufsoos who were also the respected courtiers of the king, but these people were extremely fed up with the Lord of Faith and idol worship. Troubled by the cruelty of the orthodox, these people fled from his court to save their faith and took shelter inside a cave in a nearby mountain and slept there.
Escape to the Cave : The Companion of Caves
When Dakiyanus searched for those people and found out that these people were inside the cave, he became furious.
In anger, he ordered that the cave be closed by raising a strong wall so that these people live and die inside it and the same cave becomes their grave.
Miraculous Sleep of Ashab e Kahf
The person to whom Daqiyanus had entrusted this task was a very good-hearted and honest man. He wrote down the names of the Ashab-e-Kahf, their number and their entire incident on a tablet and placed it inside a copper box and placed it in the foundation of the wall. And he also got one such tablet preserved in the royal treasury.
Awakening after centuries by
After some time, the orthodox king died and the kingdoms kept changing till a noble and just king named Vaidrush ascended the throne. He ruled with great pomp and splendor for 68 years. During his reign, religious sectarianism began and some people started denying rising after death and the doomsday.
Seeing this condition of the community, the king was drowned in grief and sorrow and he locked himself inside a house and started praying in the court of Lord Quddus with extreme restlessness that O Allah Azwajal should reveal such a sign so that people may believe in rising alive after death and in the Doomsday.
The king’s prayer was answered and suddenly a goat herder chose the same pit to graze his goats and brought down the wall.
As soon as the wall fell, people were gripped by such fear and terror that those who were bringing down the wall ran away from there trembling and the Ashab-e-Kahf woke up from their sleep by the order of Allah and got busy in greeting. each other and also offered Namaaz.
Discover by the People
When they felt hungry, they asked one of their companions, Yamlikha, to go to the market and bring some food and also find out very quietly what the old man’s intentions were regarding them.
Yamlikha left the cave and went to the market and was surprised to see that everywhere in the city people were discussing the Day of God and people were openly reciting the Kalma of Hazrat Isha Alaihissalam.
Yamlikha was shocked to see this scene. Oh God, what is this matter? In this city, even taking the name of faith was a crime. Where and why did this revolution come from today?
Then he went to a baker’s shop to get some food and gave the shopkeeper a coin of the olden days, which had not been used any more and there was no one left to see this coin.
The shopkeeper suspected that perhaps the man had found some ancient treasure. So the shopkeeper handed him over to the authorities and the authorities started questioning him about the treasure and asked him where the treasure was.
Yamlikha said that there is no treasure, this is our money. The officials said that how can we believe that the money is yours? This coin is 300 years old and years have passed since the coin stopped circulating and you are still young.
Hearing this, Yamlikha said that you people tell me what is the condition of that orthodox king? The rulers said that today there is no king of that name on this earth. Yes, hundreds of years ago, there was a dishonest king of that name who was an idol worshipper. Yamlikha said that just yesterday we ran away from his fear to save our faith and life.
My companions are present in a nearby cave, you all come with me, I will take you to them. So the rulers and religious people of the city reached that cave in large numbers.
Ashab-e-Kahf were waiting for Yamlikha. When his return was delayed, they thought that Yamlikha might have been arrested and when the noise of many people was heard at the entrance of the cave, they thought that the army of Dakinaus had come out. They got engrossed in the recitation of Lord Allah.
The officials recovered a copper chest and a tablet from the cave on which were written the names of the Ashab-e-Kahf and their stories. It was written that they were hiding in the cave out of fear of the orthodox and the king had walled it up so that their story could not reach the people.
After reading the tablet, the officials informed King Baidrush. Baidrush reached the cave, where Ashab-e-Kahf came out and narrated their incident. Seeing this, the king fell in prostration and started thanking Allah, because this incident was a sign of assurance of being alive after death.
Final resting Place
According to the tradition, the Ashab-e-Kahf prayed for King Baidrush and went to sleep in the cave after surrendering themselves to Allah, where Allah granted them death.
The king kept their holy bodies in a wooden box and built a mosque at the mouth of the cave. Allah created such an aura that no one could dare to go near the cave. The king fixed one day every year for the visit, which people celebrated like Eid.

It was his faith in Allah that saved him from those people and kept him in a safe sleep in that cave for 300 years.
Faith and reliance on Allah is the fundamental condition for a believer.
2. Courage to Stand for Truth
In Ashab’s words, We learned that the crowd is not always right, which means the majority is not always true.
If you are truthful, then the number of people in front of you does not matter if they are lying.
3. Importance of Seeking Allah’s Mercy
There are many such incidents in the Quran in which on praying for mercy from Allah, Allah has done such a miracle which is very far from the mind of a human being.
One of them is the incident of Ashab e Kahf in which they prayed to Allah to save them from the crowd and Allah put them to sleep in a safe cave. No doubt Allah is the master of everything.
4. Allah’s Control Over Time and Life
In Islam, it is believed that Allah is the creator and controller of time and life. Everything that happens in this universe happens by the will and plan of Allah. This has been clarified many times in the Quran and Hadith.
Quran (Surah al-Asr, 103:1-3):
"Allah swears by the time. Verily man is a loser, except those who believed and did righteous deeds."
There is no restriction of time and place for Allah. He sees the past, present and future with the same vision.
5. Life After Death is Certain
Life after death is a fundamental belief of Islam. Resurrection and accountability are mentioned extensively in the Quran and Hadith.
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:28):
"How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless, and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned?"
This verse clearly highlights the cycle of life, death, and resurrection.
Surah Yaseen (36:79):
“Say, ‘He who created it the first time will give life to it again, and He is the All-Knowing Creator.’”
This affirms Allah’s power to resurrect creation after death.
